Section: If one dyes [a cloth] in a dyer's vat, it is not obligatory to wash the dyed cloth, regardless of whether the dyer is a Muslim or a Kitabi (person of the Book) (35). Imam Ahmad explicitly stated this because the fundamental state is purity. If the impurity of the vat is verified, it is purified by washing, even if the color remains, based on the evidence of his (peace be upon him) statement regarding blood: "Its trace does not harm you." (36)
Sections on the Fitrah (natural disposition): Abu Hurayra narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The fitrah consists of five things: circumcision, shaving the pubic hair, trimming the mustache, clipping the nails, and plucking the armpit hair." [Agreed upon] (37). And Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr narrated from Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, that she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Ten are of the fitrah: trimming the mustache, letting the beard grow, using the miswak, rinsing the nose with water, clipping the nails, washing the knuckles, plucking the armpit hair, shaving the pubic hair, and cleaning with water [istinja]." Some of the narrators said: "I forgot the tenth, unless it is rinsing the mouth." (38)
