Section: It is recommended to wash the fingertips after trimming the nails. It has been said that rubbing with the nails before washing them is harmful to the body. Regarding the hadith of Aisha concerning "washing the knuckles" (barajim) in the interpretation of the natural disposition (fitra), it is possible that she intended this. Al-Khattabi said: The barajim are the joints on the backs of the fingers, and the rawajib are what lie between the barajim. He said: It is the cleaning of the places that contract and where dirt accumulates.

It is recommended to bury what one has trimmed of his nails or removed of his hair, for what al-Khallal narrated with his chain of narration from Mil bint Mishrah al-Ash'ariyya, who said: I saw my father trimming his nails and burying them, and he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) doing that. From Ibn Jurayj, from the Prophet (peace be upon him), it is said: He liked burying blood. Muhanna said: I asked Ahmad about a man who removes his hair and nails; should he bury them or discard them? He said: He should bury them. I said: Has anything reached you regarding that? He said: Ibn Umar used to bury them. We have narrated from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he ordered the burying of hair and nails and said: "Let not the sorcerers of the children of Adam play with it." [Or as he said: And because it is part of his parts, it is recommended to bury it like his limbs].
