He heard from him (1), and narrated from him (2).

20 - Abd al-Khaliq, al-Taj. He narrated from him (2).

21 - Baha' al-Din Abu Muhammad Abd al-Rahman ibn Ibrahim ibn Ahmad al-Maqdisi al-Hanbali. He passed away in the year 624 AH. He studied jurisprudence under him in Damascus, remained in his company, and recorded from him notes on jurisprudence and language (3), and narrated from him (4).

22 - Shams al-Din Abu al-Faraj Abd al-Rahman ibn Ahmad ibn Abd al-Malik al-Maqdisi, then al-Salihi al-Hanbali, the traditionist (muhaddith) and ascetic. He passed away in the year 689 AH. He heard from him in Damascus (5).

23 - Shihab al-Din, Abu Shama Abd al-Rahman ibn Isma'il ibn Ibrahim al-Maqdisi al-Dimashqi al-Shafi'i, the imam and polymath. He passed away in the year 665 AH (6).

Abu Shama said: I heard the "Musnad" of Imam al-Shafi'i, may Allah have mercy on him, from him, but about two leaves of it escaped me at the chapter on facing the qibla, through his hearing from Abu Zur'ah. I also heard from him the book "al-Nasiha" by Ibn Shahin, and other works (7).

24 - Sayf al-Din Abu al-Faraj Abd al-Rahman ibn Razin ibn Abd al-Aziz, Ibn Abi al-Jaysh al-Ghassani al-Hawrani, then al-Dimashqi al-Hanbali. He was killed as a martyr by the sword of the Tatars in the year 656 AH. Ibn Rajab said: He authored several works, including the book "al-Tahdhib" as a summary of "al-Mughni" in two volumes, and in it, he referred to Shaykh Muwaffaq al-Din as our shaykh; perhaps he studied under him (8).
