Translation · EN

It was extracted by Al-Bukhari. Ayyub (peace be upon him) bathed while naked (39). If a person covers him with a garment, there is no harm in that, for the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to cover himself with a garment while bathing (40). It is recommended to be covered even if one is in seclusion, because of the Prophet's (peace be upon him) statement: "Allah is more entitled to be felt shy before than people (41)."

Section: Bathing with bathhouse water is sufficient. Al-Khallal said: It is established from the companions of Abu Abd Allah that bathhouse water is sufficient for bathing with it, and one should not bathe from it [i.e., by dipping into it]. This is because the original status is purity, and it does not vanish due to doubt. Ahmad said: There is no harm in performing wudu from bathhouse water. It was narrated from him that he said: There is no harm in taking [water] from the pipe. This is by way of precaution; if one does not do so, it is permissible, because the original status is purity. Ahmad also said: Bathhouse water is pure in my view, and it is in the position of flowing water. [It was narrated from him] (42) by Al-Athram that he said: Some people are strict regarding it, and some say it is in the position of flowing water, because it is drawn and goes out, the first [portion] then the next. I said: Is it like flowing water while it rests in a place before it goes out? He replied: I have already told you there is a difference of opinion regarding it.
