Chapter: Wiping over the Khuffayn (Leather Socks)
Wiping over the khuffayn is permissible according to the generality of the people of knowledge. Ibn al-Mundhir related from Ibn al-Mubarak who said: There is no disagreement that wiping over the khuffayn is permissible. From al-Hasan, he said: Seventy companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) told me that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wiped over the khuffayn. Al-Bukhari narrated from Sa'd bin Malik, al-Mughirah, and 'Amr bin Umayyah (18) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wiped over the khuffayn.
