Al-Mughni by Ibn Qudama - Edited by Al-Turki
Volume 1 · Page 504108 - Issue: He said: (If the woman suffering from istihadah performs ghusl for every prayer, that is the most stringent view expressed regarding her case; and if she performs wudu for every prayer, it is sufficient for her)

Translation · EN

It is not menstruation. According to this, neither nine nor ten is a time for menstruation. The Qadi said: It must be said, based on this, that the first time at which the occurrence of menstruation is valid is twelve years, because it is the age at which the puberty of a boy is valid. But the first view is more correct.

108 - Issue: He said: "And if the mustahada (woman experiencing irregular bleeding) performs ghusl for every prayer, it is the most stringent of what has been said regarding her; and if she performs wudu' for every prayer, it suffices her."

Scholars have differed regarding the mustahada. Some of them said: Ghusl is obligatory for her for every prayer. This is narrated from 'Ali, Ibn 'Umar, Ibn 'Abbas, and Ibn al-Zubayr, and it is one of the two opinions of al-Shafi'i regarding the mutahayyira (the woman who has lost track of her cycle); because 'A'isha narrated that Umm Habiba experienced isti'hada, so she asked the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and he commanded her to perform ghusl, [and she used to perform ghusl] for every prayer, agreed upon. Abu Dawud narrated that a woman used to have blood flowing during the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, commanded her [to perform ghusl] at every prayer. Some said: She performs one ghusl every day. This is narrated from 'A'isha, Ibn 'Umar, Anas, [and Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib]; for they said: She performs ghusl from noon to noon. Malik said: I believe the hadith of Ibn al-Musayyib is only: "from purity (tuhr) to purity (tuhr)," but confusion (wahm) entered into it, meaning that the letter ta' without a dot was replaced by the ta' with a dot. Some said: She combines every two prayers with one ghusl, and performs ghusl for the dawn prayer according to what is in the hadith of Hamna. We have already mentioned it, and the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, likewise commanded Sahlah bint Suhayl to do so. Some said: She performs ghusl once;
