it [the book], nor are the parts of the book to be lent, rather volume by volume, and it is not to be lent except within its town... and it is not to be left with the borrower for more than three [sic] months. He stipulated therein the oversight for himself for the duration of his life, then after him... the Chief Justice Radi al-Din Abu Ja'far... ibn Sa'd al-Din ibn Sa'd Allah al-Harrani al-Hanbali and the righteous Sheikh, the exemplar, 'Izz al-Din Sayf ibn Mansur al-Zar'i during the days of their lives. Each of them has the right to assign the oversight of that to whomsoever he wishes... The oversight of that was for the overseer of the library in which the location of these books is, and it is the library of the Hanbali Madrasa in protected Damascus, may Allah the Exalted have mercy... Allah does not waste the reward of the doers of good. Whoever alters it after he has heard it, his sin is only upon those who alter it; indeed, Allah is Hearing, Knowing. Written on the seventh of the month of Shawwal, the year 641 [AH]." Then, following that, is a list of its chapters, beginning with the Chapter of the Traveler's Prayer, and ending with the Chapter on the Mention of Times from the Book of Hajj. At the end of the copy: "By the hand of the needy one for the mercy of Allah the Exalted, Muhammad ibn 'Uthman ibn Muhammad al-Hanbali, may Allah forgive him, his parents, and all the Muslims, amen, at the Hanbali Madrasa, on the eleventh of the month of Rabi' al-Awwal... [the year] seven hundred and thirty-five [AH]." After it: "It has been fully collated against a correct copy, which was collated against the author's own original, may Allah the Exalted have mercy on him." Then: "Endowment of the library of the Hanbali Madrasa in protected Damascus." The copy is written in a standard script, consists of 264 folios, and has 25 lines per page.

3 - The third part of another copy. On the first page, after its title, is the list of chapters, the Book of Zakat, until the Chapter of What a Pilgrim Avoids and What Is Permissible for Him, from the Book of Hajj. On the right side of the page: "Praise be to Allah, Muhammad ibn Qawwam al-Hanafi endowed this book for himself, then after him to the students of sacred knowledge in protected Damascus, and made its location at the Madrasa of Sheikh Abu 'Umar in al-Salihiyya, dated the third of Jumada al-Akhira in the year 852 [AH]. May the mercy of Allah be attained by whoever reads it, and whoever prays for its endower and his parents for forgiveness and mercy, and for all the Muslims." On the left side of the page: "This volume transferred..."
