From Ibn ʿUmar, from the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), who said: "If one of you eats, let him eat with his right hand, for the Shayṭān eats with his left hand and drinks with his left hand." Narrated by Muslim (27). From ʿĀʾishah, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "If one of you eats, let him mention the name of Allah. If he forgets to mention the name of Allah at the beginning, let him say: 'Bismillāhi awwalahu wa ākhirahu' (In the name of Allah at its beginning and its end)." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was sitting while a man was eating, and he did not mention [the name of Allah] until only one morsel of his food remained. When he raised it to his mouth, he said: "Bismillāhi awwalahu wa ākhirahu."
