If he performs the ritual bath (ghusl) between each act of intercourse, it is better, for Abu Rafi' narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went around to all his wives and performed a ritual bath at each one of them. I said: "O Messenger of Allah, if only you had made it one bath?" He replied: "This is purer, better, and cleaner." Reported by Ahmad in Al-Musnad (86). All the hadiths of this section were narrated by Abu Hafs al-'Ukbari. Ibn Battah also narrated, with his chain of authority from Abu Sa'id, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If a man has intercourse in the first part of the night, then wishes to repeat it, let him perform ablution like his ablution for prayer" (87).

Section: It is not for a man to bring together two of his wives in one dwelling without their consent, whether [the dwelling] is small or large, because there is harm to them in that, due to the enmity and jealousy that exists between them. If they consent to him having intercourse with one in such a way that the other sees it, it is not permissible, because that contains baseness, foolishness, and a lack of chivalry, so it is not allowed even with their consent. If he houses them in one building, each in a separate room, it is permissible if that is a dwelling suitable for one of her status.

Section: It was narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said: "Are you amazed at the jealousy of Sa'd? I am more jealous than him, and Allah is more jealous than I" (89). And from 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: It has reached me that your women are crowding together...
