[trained], so it catches for us? He said: "Eat." I said: "Even if it kills?" He said: "Eat, [so long as] (7) no other dog has joined it." He said: The Messenger of Allah - may Allah bless him and grant him peace - was asked about game caught with a mi'rad (throwing stick) (8), so he said: "Whatever it pierces, eat it, and whatever it kills with its breadth (side), do not eat it." (9) Both [traditions] are agreed upon. The scholars are in consensus regarding the permissibility of hunting and eating from the game.
1702 - Issue: Abu al-Qasim, may Allah have mercy on him, said: (And if he mentions the name of Allah and releases his dog or his trained cheetah, and it hunts and kills, and does not eat from it (1), its consumption is permissible.)
As for the game whose slaughter (dhakah) one catches, there are no conditions for its permissibility other than the validity of the slaughter; and for this reason, he, upon him be peace, said: "And whatever you hunt with your dog that is not trained, and you catch its slaughter, then eat." As for what the hunting animal kills (2), there are seven conditions for its permissibility; one of them is that the hunter must be from those qualified for
