And if the Muslims fear for their companion? He said: "Even so; for dueling is only like this." However, if they intervened between them and left the warrior's path, he said: "If the enemy assists their companion, then there is no harm if the Muslims assist their companion." Our argument is that Hamzah and Ali assisted Ubaydah ibn al-Harith in killing Shaybah ibn Rabi'ah when Ubaydah was severely wounded.

Section: Deception in war is permissible for the duelist and others, because the Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "War is deception." (21) This is a Hasan Sahih (good and authentic) Hadith. It is narrated that 'Amr ibn 'Abd Wudd dueled 'Ali (may Allah honor his face); when he turned towards him, 'Ali said (22): "I have not come out to fight two." So 'Amr turned around, then he (Ali) leaped upon him and struck him, and 'Amr said: "You have deceived me." 'Ali replied: "War is deception."

Section: Ahmad said: If they raid by sea, and a man wishes to stay on the shore, he must ask permission from the governor (23) who is over all the ships, and it is not sufficient for him to ask permission from the governor who is on his own ship.

1632 - Issue: He said: (And whoever is given something to assist him in his military expedition, whatever remains is his. If it was not given for a specific expedition, he must return what remains from the expedition.)

The summary of this is that whoever is given money to assist him in a military expedition, it cannot be but one of two cases: either it is given for a specific expedition, or for military expeditions in general.
