Al-Mughni by Ibn Qudama - Edited by Al-Turki
Volume 2 · Page 121Section

Translation · EN

Section: It was said to Ahmad: Does one say anything before the takbir? He said: No. Meaning that there is no prescribed supplication before it, since nothing has been transmitted from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, nor from his Companions. Furthermore, supplication is [to be performed] after the act of worship, due to the saying of Allah Almighty: {So when you have finished, devote yourself to worship. And to your Lord direct your longing} (29).

Notes

(29) Surah al-Sharh 7, 8.
