Translation · EN

Aisha (11): The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would spread his left leg and keep his right one upright, and he would forbid 'aqabat al-shaytan (the devil's squatting) (12). These hadiths are more numerous and more authentic, and thus they take precedence. As for Ibn 'Umar, he used to do that due to his old age and would say: Do not take me as an example.

167 - Issue; He said: (And he says: My Lord, forgive me. My Lord, forgive me.)

The recommended practice according to Abu 'Abd Allah is to say between the two prostrations: My Lord, forgive me. My Lord, forgive me. He repeats this multiple times. The obligatory portion is once, the minimum level of perfection is three, and perfection in it is like the perfection in the glorification (tasbih) of the bowing (ruku') and prostration, according to what has already passed regarding the two narrations, and the disagreement among the scholars is similar to what we mentioned regarding the tasbih of ruku' and prostration. The basis for this is what was narrated by Hudhayfah, that he prayed with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he would say between the two prostrations: "My Lord, forgive me. My Lord, forgive me." Ahmad argued using this, and it was narrated by al-Nasa'i and Ibn Majah (1). It is narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to say between the two prostrations: "O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, grant me well-being, and provide for me." Narrated by Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah (2), except that he said: In the night prayer. If one says: My Lord, forgive us. Or: O Allah, forgive us, instead of: My Lord, forgive me, it is permissible.

عائشةَ (١١): أنّ النَّبِيَّ -صلى اللَّه عليه وسلم- كانَ يفتَرِشُ رِجْلَهُ اليُسْرَى، ويَنْصِبُ اليُمْنَى، ويَنْهَى عَن عُقْبَةِ الشَّيْطانِ (١٢). وهذهِ الأحاديثُ أكْثَرُ وَأصَحُّ، فتكونُ أوْلَى. وأمَّا ابنُ عمرَ، فإنَّه كان يَفْعَلُ ذلك لكِبَرِه، ويقولُ: لا تَقْتَدُوا بى.

١٦٧ - مسألة؛ قالَ: (ويَقُولُ: رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِى رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِى)

المُسْتَحَبُّ عند أبي عبدِ اللهِ أنْ يقولَ بين السجدتين: رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لي، رَبِّ اغفر لِى. يُكَرِّرُ ذلكَ مِرَارًا، والواجبُ منهُ مَرَّةٌ، وأدنَى الكمالِ ثَلَاثٌ، والكمالُ منهُ مثلُ الكمالِ في تَسْبِيحِ الرُّكوعِ والسُّجودِ، على ما مَضَى مِن اختلافِ الرِّوَايَتَيْنِ، واختلَافُ أهلِ العِلْمِ مثلُ ما ذَكَرْنَا في تَسْبيحِ الرُّكوعِ والسُّجودِ. والأصلُ في هذا ما رَوَى حُذَيْفَة، أنَّه صلَّى مع النَّبِيِّ -صلى اللَّه عليه وسلم-، فكان يقولُ بينَ السجدتين: "رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِى، رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِى". احْتَجَّ به أحمدُ، رَوَاهُ النسائِىُّ، وابن ماجه (١). ورُوِىَ عن ابْنِ عباسٍ أنَّه قالَ: كانَ رسولُ اللهِ -صلى اللَّه عليه وسلم- يقولُ بينَ السجدتينِ: "اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِى، وَارْحَمْنِى، وَاهْدِنِى، وعَافِنِى؛ وَارْزُقْنى". رَوَاهُ أبو داوُد، وابن ماجه (٢)، إلَّا أنَّه قالَ: في صَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِ. وإنْ قالَ: رَبِّ اغفِرْ لنا. أو: اللَّهُمَّ اغفرْ لنا، مكانَ: رَبِّ اغفر لي. جازَ.
