sitting; because of what Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, narrated, saying: When the Messenger of Allah -peace be upon him- would deliver the taslim, he would not sit for longer than the time it takes to say: "O Allah, You are the Peace, and from You is peace; blessed are You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor." Narrated by Ibn Majah (104). From al-Bara', he said: I observed the Messenger -peace be upon him-, and I found his standing, his bowing, his uprightness after bowing, his prostrations, and his sitting between the two prostrations, and his sitting (105) between the taslim and the departure (106) were nearly equal. [Agreed upon (107), except that al-Bukhari said: Except for the standing and sitting, they were nearly equal] (108). If he does not stand up, [it is recommended that he turn] (109) away from his qibla, [and he should not remain facing the qibla, because that might lead him to doubt whether he has finished his prayer or not. Al-Bukhari has narrated with his chain of transmission] (110) from Samurah, he said: When the Messenger of Allah -peace be upon him- prayed, he would turn to face us (111).
