ends, then I tucked it inward (43) so that it would not fall. Then I came and stood to the left of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He took (44) my hand and turned me until he placed me to his right. Then Jabbar (45) ibn Sakhr came and stood to his left, so he took our hands both together and positioned us behind him. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) began to watch me while I was unaware; then I realized what he was doing, so he gestured for me to tie it around my waist. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) finished, he said: "O Jabir!" I replied: "At your service, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "If it is wide, overlap its ends, and if it is tight, tie it around your waist."

Section: If he finds only what covers part of his nakedness, he should cover the two private parts (the genitals and the anus), because they are more obscene and covering them is more emphasized, and they are part of the nakedness without disagreement (47). If he has only enough for one of them, he may cover whichever he wishes. There is disagreement regarding which of them is more appropriate to cover; it was said: the anus, because it is more obscene and becomes exposed (48) during bowing and prostration. It was also said: the private part (genitals) is more appropriate to cover; because he faces the Qibla with it, and it has nothing covering it (50), while the anus is covered by the buttocks.

طَرفَيْها، ثم تَوَاقَصْتُ عليها (٤٣) حتى لَا تَسْقُطَ، ثم جِئْتُ حتَّى قُمْتُ عن يَسَارِ رسول اللهِ -صلى اللَّه عليه وسلم-، فأخَذَ (٤٤) بيَدِى فأدارَنى حتى أقامنى عن يَمِينِهِ، فجاءَ جَبَّارُ (٤٥) ابْنُ صخْرٍ، حتَّى قامَ عن يَسَارِهِ، فأخذَنَا بَيدَيْهِ جَمِيعًا، حَتَّى أقَامَنَا خَلْفَهُ. قال: وجعلَ رسولُ اللهِ -صلى اللَّه عليه وسلم- يَرْمُقُنِى وأنا لا أَشْعُرُ، ثم فَطِنْتُ بِه، فأشارَ إلىَّ أَنْ أَتَّزِرَ بها، فلمَّا فرَغَ رسولُ اللهِ -صلى اللَّه عليه وسلم- قال: "يَا جَابِرُ". قُلْتُ: لَبَّيْكَ يا رسولَ اللهِ. قال: "إذَا كَانَ وَاسِعًا فَخَالِفْ بَيْنَ طَرَفَيْهِ، وإِذَا كَانَ ضَيِّقًا فَاشْدُدْهُ عَلَى حَقْوِكَ".

[فصل: فإنْ لم يَجِدْ إلَّا ما يَسْتُرُ] (٤٦) بعضَ العَوْرةِ سَتَرَ الفَرْجَيْنِ؛ لأنَّهما أفْحَشُ، وسَتْرُهما آكَدُ، [وهما من العَوْرةِ بغير خلافٍ] (٤٧). فإنْ كانَ لا يَكْفِى إلَّا أحدَهما سَتَرَ أيَّهما شَاءَ. واخْتُلِفَ في أَوْلَاهما بالسَّتْرِ، فَقِيلَ: الدُّبُرُ؛ لأنَّهُ أَفْحَشُ، وينْفَرِجُ (٤٨) في الرُّكوعِ والسُّجودِ. وقِيلَ: القُبُلُ [أوْلَى؛ لأنَّ به يسْتقْبِلُ] (٤٩) القِبْلَةَ، [وليس له ما يَسْتُرُهُ] (٥٠)، والدُّبُرُ مَسْتُورٌ بِالْألْيَتَيْنِ.

١٩٤ - مسألة؛ قال: (فَإِنْ صَلَّى جَمَاعَةٌ عُرَاةٌ، كانَ الإِمَامُ مَعَهُمْ فِي الصَّفِّ وَسَطًا (١)، يُومِئُونَ إِيمَاءً. ويَكُونُ سُجُودُهُمْ أَخْفَضَ مِنْ رُكُوعِهِمْ)

وجُمْلَةُ ذلك أنَّ الجماعةَ مَشْرُوعَةٌ للعُرَاةِ. وبه قال قَتادَة. وقال مالكٌ، والأوْزَاعِىُّ، وأصْحابُ الرَّأْىِ: يُصَلُّونَ فُرَادَى. [قال مالك] (٢): ويَتَبَاعَدُ
