in Hajj there are two prostrations. Ibn Umar said: If I were to abandon one of them, I would have abandoned the first. This is because the first is a report, while the second is a command, and following the command is more appropriate. The mention of bowing does not necessitate omitting the prostration, just as weeping was mentioned in His saying: {They fell down in prostration and weeping} (14) and His saying: {And they fall upon their faces weeping, and it increases them in humility} (15).
Section: The places of prostration (16): The end of al-A'raf: {And to Him they prostrate}, and in al-Ra'd: {And their shadows in the mornings and the evenings} (17), and in al-Nahl: {And they do what they are commanded} (18), and in Bani Isra'il: {And it increases them in humility} (19), and in Maryam: {They fell down in prostration and weeping} (20), and in al-Hajj: {Indeed, Allah does what He wills} (21) and His saying: {And do good, that you may succeed} (21), and in al-Furqan: {And it increased them in aversion} (22), and in al-Naml: {Lord of the Great Throne} (23), and in Alif-Lam-Mim al-Sajdah: {And they are not arrogant} (24), and in Ha-Mim Tanzil: {And they do not become weary} (25), and at the end of al-Najm: {So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]}, and in al-Inshiqaq: {And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate} (26), and at the end of Iqra' bi-Ismi Rabbik: {And prostrate and draw near} (27).

فصل: ومواضِعُ السَّجَدات (١٦): آخِرُ الأعْرَافِ: {وَلَهُ يَسْجُدُونَ}، وفى الرَّعْدِ: {وَظِلَالُهُمْ بِالْغُدُوِّ وَالْآصَالِ} (١٧)، وفى النَّحْلِ: {وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ} (١٨) وفى بَنِى إسْرَائِيلَ: {وَيَزِيدُهُمْ خُشُوعًا} (١٩). وَفِى مَرْيَمَ: {خَرُّوا سُجَّدًا وَبُكِيًّا} (٢٠). وفِي الحَجِّ: {إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَاءُ} (٢١) وقَوْلُه: {وَافْعَلُوا الْخَيْرَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ} (٢١). وفى الفُرْقَانِ: {وَزَادَهُمْ نُفُورًا} (٢٢). وفى النَّمْلِ: {رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ} (٢٣). وفى ألم السَّجدة: {وَهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ} (٢٤). وفي حم تنْزِيل: {وَهُمْ لَا يَسْأَمُونَ} (٢٥). وآخرُ النَّجْمِ: {فَاسْجُدُوا لِلَّهِ وَاعْبُدُوا}. وفى الانْشِقَاق: {وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقُرْآنُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ} (٢٦). وآخر اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ: {وَاسْجُدْ وَاقْتَرِبْ} (٢٧).
