to Aishah: "Remove this qiram (curtain) of yours from us, for its images continue to present themselves to me in my prayer." It was narrated by al-Bukhari (62). It is disliked to raise the gaze; because of what al-Bukhari (63) narrated that Anas said, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "What is wrong with people who raise their eyes to the sky during their prayer!" He spoke strongly about that, until he said: "They must stop, or their eyesight will surely be snatched away." It is also disliked for a man to pray with his hand on his waist (khasirah); because of what Abu Hurayrah narrated, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade a man from praying while placing his hand on his waist (mutakhassiran).
