Section: On the Prayer of Need (Salat al-Hajah): On the authority of Abdullah bin Abi Awfa, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Whoever has a need before Allah, or before any of the children of Adam, let him perform wudu, and perform it well, then let him pray two rak'ahs, [then let him praise] (69) Allah the Exalted, and send blessings upon the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), then let him say: 'There is no god but Allah, the Forbearing, the Generous. There is no god but Allah, the Most High, the Magnificent. Glory be to Allah, Lord of the Magnificent Throne. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. I ask You for the prerequisites of Your mercy, the resolves of Your forgiveness, the spoils of every righteousness, and safety from every sin. Do not leave for me a sin except that You forgive it, nor a distress except that You relieve it, nor a need that is pleasing to You except that You fulfill it, O Most Merciful of those who show mercy.'" Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (70), who said: A gharib (strange) hadith.
Section: On the Prayer of Repentance (Salat al-Tawbah): On the authority of Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: Abu Bakr told me—and Abu Bakr spoke the truth—that he heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) say: "There is no man who commits a sin, then stands up and purifies himself, then prays two rak'ahs, then seeks the forgiveness of Allah the Exalted, except that He forgives him." Then he recited
