Al-Mughni by Ibn Qudama - Edited by Al-Turki

Translation · EN

Say: 'I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.' Do not say: 'Come to prayer.' Say: 'Pray in your houses.' He said: 'It is as if the people disapproved of that.' He then said: 'Are you surprised by this? One who is better than me did this. Friday prayer is a firm determination, and I disliked bringing you out to it so that you would walk in the mud and slipperiness.' Narrated by Muslim. And because it is an excuse for the congregational prayer, it is an excuse for the Friday prayer, like illness. The Friday prayer is dropped by every excuse that drops the congregational prayer. We have already mentioned the excuses at the end of the description of prayer. We only mentioned rain here because of the disagreement regarding it.

Section: The Friday prayer is obligatory upon the blind. Abu Hanifa said: It is not obligatory upon him. We have the generality of the verse and the reports, and his saying: 'Friday prayer is obligatory except upon four,' and what we have mentioned regarding the obligation of congregational prayer upon him.

293 - Issue; He said: (And if they attend it, it suffices them.)

Meaning, it suffices them as a replacement for the Dhuhr prayer, and we do not know of any disagreement regarding this. Ibn al-Mundhir said: All the scholars whose views we have preserved have reached a consensus that there is no Friday prayer upon women, and they reached a consensus that if they attend and perform the Friday prayer, it suffices them, because the dropping of the Friday prayer is to provide ease for them, so if they bear the hardship and perform it, it suffices them,
