the subject. From 'Aisha, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to perform the takbir during the two Eids seven and five times before the recitation. Narrated by Ahmad in Al-Musnad (13). From 'Abd Allah ibn 'Amr, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "The takbir in al-Fitr is seven in the first [rak'ah], and five in the last, and the recitation is after both of them." Narrated by Abu Dawud (14) and al-Athram. Ibn Majah also narrated it (14) from Sa'd, the muezzin of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, similarly. The hadith of Abu Musa is weak, as stated by al-Khattabi (15). Furthermore, in the narration of Abu Dawud, it does not state that he performed the recitations consecutively. We interpret it as his having performed the Fatiha and the surah consecutively, because it is impossible to perform the recitations of the two rak'ahs consecutively due to the bowing (ruku') and prostration (sujud) that occur between them.
305 - Issue; he said: (And he performs seven takbirs in the first [rak'ah], including the opening takbir).
Abu 'Abd Allah said: He performs seven takbirs in the first [rak'ah], inclusive of the opening takbir (takbirat al-ihram), and he does not count the bowing takbir because there is a recitation between them. He performs five takbirs in the second rak'ah, and he does not count the takbir for rising, then he recites in the second [rak'ah], and then he performs the takbir and bows. This has been narrated from the seven jurists of Medina, 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz, al-Zuhri, Malik, and al-Muzani. It has also been narrated from Abu Hurayrah, Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, Ibn 'Abbas, Ibn 'Umar, and Yahya al-Ansari, who said: He performs seven takbirs in the first [rak'ah] and five in the second. This is also the position of al-Awza'i and al-Shafi'i,
