Translation · EN

Abu Sa'id said: Gabriel came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: "O Muhammad, have you fallen ill?" He said: "Yes." He said: "In the name of Allah, I perform ruqyah for you, from everything that harms you, from the evil of every soul or envious eye, may Allah heal you" (49). Abu Zur'ah said: Both of these hadiths are authentic. It is narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When you enter upon a sick person, expand his hope for his term of life (i.e., offer comfort), for that does not avert anything of the decree of Allah, but it pleases the heart of the sick person." Narrated by Ibn Majah (50). One should also encourage him to repent and make a will, based on what Ibn Umar narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said: "It is not for a Muslim person who has something to leave by will, to spend two nights, except that his will is written with him." Agreed upon (51).

Section: It is recommended that the sick person be attended by the person of his family who is most gentle with him, most knowledgeable about his situation, and most God-fearing towards
