good deed} (20). Ahmad said: 'It is wailing.' The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) cursed the wailing woman and the woman who listens to her (21). Umm 'Atiyyah said: 'The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took a pledge from us at the time of the bay'ah (oath of allegiance) that we would not wail.' Agreed upon (22). And from Abu Musa, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) [disassociated himself from the one who raises her voice (saliqah), the one who shaves her head (haliqah), and the one who tears her garment (shaqqah) (23). The saliqah is the one who raises her voice. And from Ibn Mas'ud, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)] (24), said: 'He is not one of us who strikes the cheeks, tears the garments, and calls out with the call of the Jahiliyyah.' Agreed upon (25). And because that resembles complaining (26), seeking help, and discontent.
