join you (6). We ask Allah for us and for you for well-being. In the hadith of 'Aishah: And may Allah have mercy upon those of us who have gone before and those who come later (7). And in another hadith: O Allah, do not deprive us of their reward, and do not put us to trial after them (8). And if he [adds and says] (9): O Allah, forgive us and them, it is good.
Section: He said: There is no harm in reciting near the grave. It has been narrated from Ahmad that he said: If you enter the graveyards, recite Ayatul Kursi and three times {Say, He is Allah, [who is] One}, then say: O Allah, its reward is for the people of the graveyards. It was also narrated from him that he said: Recitation at the grave is an innovation (bid'ah). That was also narrated from Hushaym. Abu Bakr said: A group narrated that from Ahmad, then he receded from it in a way that he made clear. A group narrated that Ahmad forbade a blind man from reciting at the grave and said to him: Recitation at the grave is an innovation. Muhammad ibn Qudamah al-Jawhari (11) said to him: O Abu 'Abd Allah, what do you say about Mubashshir al-Halabi? He said: He is reliable (thiqah). He said: Then Mubashshir (12) reported to me, on the authority of his father, that he willed that when he is buried, the opening (Fatihah) of Al-Baqarah and its conclusion should be recited at his grave, and he said: I heard Ibn 'Umar instructing that. Ahmad ibn Hanbal said: Then go back and tell the man to recite.
