So when I finished it and delivered it to him, he ordered a commission for me. I said: I only worked for the sake of Allah, and my reward is with Allah. He said: Take what you have been given, for I worked during the era of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and he employed me, and I said the same as you said. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) then said to me: "If you are given something without asking, then eat and give charity."
Section: He may pay from it the wage of the accountant, the scribe, the assembler, the treasurer, the guard, the shepherd, and those similar to them. They are all counted among those employed to collect it, and he pays them from the share of those employed to collect it. As for the wage of the weigher and the measurer for the collector to receive the zakat, that is upon the property owner, because it is among the costs of paying the zakat.
Section: A disbeliever is not given from the zakat except for being one whose heart is to be reconciled, according to what we will mention. It is permissible for a person to give his relative from the zakat if he is a warrior [for the cause of Allah], or one whose heart is to be reconciled, or a debtor in the path of reconciliation, or a worker [employed to collect zakat], but he may not give for other than that. Abu Dawood has narrated.

As for the "agreed upon" one, it is the hadith of ‘Umar, may Allah be pleased with him: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would give me a gift, and I would say: Give it to one who is poorer than me... the hadith. It was narrated by al-Bukhari, in: The Chapter on Those to Whom Allah Has Given Something Without Asking or Coveting, from the Book of Zakat. Sahih al-Bukhari 2/152-153.
