Section: It is recommended to enter Makkah from its upper part; because it is reported by Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered Makkah from the Upper Mountain Pass (al-Thaniyyah al-'Ulya) which is at al-Batha', and exited from the Lower Mountain Pass (al-Thaniyyah al-Sufla). 'Aishah reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), when he came to Makkah, entered from its upper part and exited from its lower part. Both are agreed upon (3). There is no objection to entering it at night or during the day; because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered Makkah by both night and day. Both are reported by al-Nasa'i (4).
609 - Issue; Abu al-Qasim, may Allah have mercy on him, said: When he enters the mosque, it is recommended for him to enter from the Banu Shaybah Gate, [and when he sees the House, he raises his hands and proclaims takbir].
It was only recommended to enter the mosque from the Banu Shaybah Gate (1) because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered through it.
