Translation · EN

This is based on what Usamah bin Zayd narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) departed from Arafah. When he reached the mountain pass (shi'b), he stopped, urinated, and performed ablution. I said to him: "The prayer, O Messenger of Allah." He replied: "The prayer is ahead of you." He then rode on. When he arrived at Muzdalifah, he stopped, performed ablution, and perfected it. [Then the iqamah for prayer was called, and he prayed Maghrib. Then every person let his camel kneel down in his place] (3), and the iqamah for prayer was called, and he prayed Isha, and he did not pray between them. This is agreed upon (4). This opinion is also narrated from Ibn Umar, and it is the view of Salim, al-Qasim bin Muhammad, al-Shafi'i, and Ishaq. If one combines them with the iqamah of the first prayer (5), there is no harm; this is also narrated from Ibn Umar, and it is the view of al-Thawri, based on the narration of Ibn Umar: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) combined Maghrib and Isha at Jam' (Muzdalifah), praying Maghrib three [rak'ahs] and Isha two [rak'ahs], with a single iqamah.
