113 - Ḥamza ibn al-ʿAbbās narrated to me, saying: ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUthmān informed us, saying: ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Mubārak informed us, saying: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Lahīʿa informed us, from ʿAṭāʾ ibn Dīnār, that Saʿīd ibn Jubayr said: “Patience is the servant's acknowledgement to Allah of what has afflicted him from Him, and seeking his reward with Allah in hope of His recompense; and a man may be grieving inwardly while maintaining fortitude, so that nothing is seen of him except patience.”
