129 - ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Abī Maryam narrated to me, saying: "There was a man in al-Maṣṣīṣa whose lower half was gone, and nothing remained of him except his soul in a part of his body; he was blind, lying on a couch, with an opening made for him to urinate. A visitor entered upon him and said: 'How are you this morning, O Abū Muḥammad?' He said: 'The kingdom of the world is detached from God—Blessed and Exalted is He—and I have no need for it, except that He cause me to die upon Islam.'"
