135 - Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn narrated to me, ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Qarīb al-Aṣmaʿī narrated to us, saying: A man who witnessed that narrated to me, saying: "When she was brought to Ibn Ziyād, he gave orders regarding her, so her hands and feet were cut off, yet she did not utter a single word. He said: Then fire was brought to cauterize her, so when she saw the fire, she screamed. It was said to her: 'Your hands and feet were cut off and you did not speak, but when you saw the fire, you screamed before it was even brought near you?' She said: "It was not from your fire that I screamed, nor over your world that I grieved; rather, I was reminded by it of the Great Hellfire, so that which you saw of me was because of that." He said: Then he ordered that her eyes be gouged out, so she said: "O Allah, my grief in the world has lasted long, so grant joy to my eye in the Hereafter," then she passed away."
