137 - Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn narrated to me, Abū ʿUmar al-Ḍarīr narrated to us, Bakr ibn Ḥumrān narrated to me, saying: When it was said to her: "It has been ordered that your hands and feet be cut off and your eyes gouged out," she said: "Praise be to Allah in ease and hardship, and in well-being and trial. I had hoped for from Allah even more than this." He said: When she was cut, the blood would not stop flowing, so she felt death approaching and said: "A troubled life and a good death! If you attain what you hoped for, O soul, of Allah's abundant reward, you will indeed have attained everlasting joy, with which no hardship of life or dispute with men in this fleeting abode can harm you." He said: Then she writhed until she died.
