178 - Isḥāq ibn Ismāʿīl narrated to us, Wakīʿ narrated to us, from Sufyān, from Abū Ḥayyān al-Taymī, who said: They entered upon Suwayd ibn Shuʿba—and he was among the most virtuous companions of ʿAbd Allāh—while his wife was saying to him: “May my soul be sacrificed for you! What can we feed you? What can we give you to drink?” He answered her in a weak voice: “The hipbones have decayed, and the lying down has been long. By Allah, it would not please me if Allah were to reduce from it even a fingernail clipping.”
