179 - Abū Kurayb narrated to us, al-Muḥāribī narrated to us, al-Aʿmash narrated to us, from ʿAmr ibn Murra, who said: Al-Rabīʿ ibn Khaytham had been struck with paralysis. He said: Water flowed from his mouth onto his beard, so he raised his hand but was unable to wipe it away. So Bakr ibn Māʿiz stood up to him and wiped it off for him. Al-Rabīʿ looked at him and then said: “O Bakr, I would not wish that this condition of mine were instead upon the most rebellious of the Daylamites against Allah Almighty.”
