53 - Abū Khaythama narrated to me, Wakīʿ narrated to us, from Isrāʾīl, from Abū Isḥāq, from al-ʿAyzār ibn Ḥurayth, from ʿUmar ibn Saʿd, from his father, he said: The Prophet—peace and blessings of God be upon him—said: “I marvel at the believer: if good befalls him, he praises God and gives thanks, and if a calamity befalls him, he seeks reward and exercises patience. The believer is rewarded for everything, even for the morsel of food he raises to his mouth.”
