62 - Narrated to us ʿAlī ibn Abī Maryam, on the authority of Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn, who said: Narrated to me Khalaf ibn Ismāʿīl, who said: "I heard an afflicted man among these chronically ill people saying: 'By Your Might, even if You were to command the vermin to tear me into morsels, I would only increase—by Your granting of success—in patience toward You, and—by Your grace and favor—in contentment with You.' Khalaf said: And leprosy had severed his hands, his feet, and most of his body."
