65 - Narrated to me ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ṣāliḥ: Narrated to us ʿAlī ibn Thābit, on the authority of al-Uswārī, on the authority of Hishām, on the authority of al-Ḥasan, who said: "Ayyūb, peace be upon him, remained cast upon a trash heap for seven years, such that a man would pass by him and hold his nose, until two men passed by him and said, 'If God had any need for this man, He would not have brought him to this state.' It was at that moment that he said: {Adversity has touched me}."
