8 - Abū Bishr ʿĀṣim ibn ʿUmar ibn ʿAlī narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to us, from al-Sarī ibn Ismāʿīl, from al-Shaʿbī, from Masrūq, who said: ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, may God be pleased with him, said: “Indeed, patience is to faith (īmān) as the head is to the body; if the head is severed, the body perishes.” Then he raised his voice and said: “Indeed, there is no faith for one who has no patience.”
