120 - Al-Hasan ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab informed me, saying: Abu Bakr ibn Hammad narrated to us, saying: I asked Abu 'Abd Allah Ahmad ibn Hanbal: "If a man wishes to go on a military expedition—and at that time there were the Khurramiyyah—I said: 'To which of the two fronts is more beloved to you?' He said: 'Where is the man's residence?' I said: 'In this city,' and he pointed towards the Khurramiyyah."
١٢٠ - وَأَخْبَرَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ، قَالَ: ثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ ⦗١٥٠⦘ حَمَّادٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَحْمَدَ بْنَ حَنْبَلٍ: " الرَّجُلُ إِذَا أَرَادَ الْغَزْوَ، وَكَانَ إِذْ ذَاكَ الْخُرَّمِيَّةُ قُلْتُ: فَإِلَى أَيِّ الْوِجْهَتَيْنِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ: وَأَيْنَ مَسْكَنُ الرَّجُلِ، قُلْتُ فِي هَذِهِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَأَشَارَ نَحْوَ الْخُرَّمِيَّةِ "
