156 - And Abu Bakr al-Marrudhi reported to us, saying: I asked Abu 'Abd Allah about robbers who waylay a man on the road. He said: "He should fight them in defense of his property." I said: "What if they waylay the traveling companions but do not bother his own property, do you think he should fight them?" He said: "I do not think he should fight them with a sword except in defense of his property."
