165 - Muhammad ibn Abi Harun and Muhammad ibn Ja'far informed me that Abu al-Harith narrated to them, saying: I asked Abu Abd Allah about fighting thieves, and he said: "Whoever is killed defending his wealth is a martyr." I said: "Should I fight him and strike him?" He replied: "If you know that he intends to take your wealth, then fight him." He added: "If a man fights in defense of his wealth and kills, injures, or disables them, I hope that he will incur no sin, for he has been granted permission to fight."
