225 - Muhammad ibn Ali informed me, saying: Salih narrated to us that he asked his father about the woman who offered herself to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace): Did he marry her? He said: "There is a difference of opinion regarding this. As for Mujahid, he used to say: If she offered herself, meaning that she did not offer herself."
٢٢٥ - وَأَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا صَالِحٌ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ أَبَاهُ عَنِ الْمَرْأَةِ الَّتِي وَهَبَتْ نَفْسَهَا لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، تَزَوَّجَهَا؟، قَالَ: فِيهِ اخْتِلَافٌ، أَمَّا مُجَاهِدٌ فَكَانَ يَقُولُ: إِنْ وَهَبَتْ، أَيْ لَمْ تَهِبْ "
