244 - Abu Dawud al-Sijistani informed us, saying: Ibrahim ibn Musa al-Razi narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Layth, from Mujahid regarding His saying: {It may be that your Lord will raise you to a Station of Praise (Maqam Mahmud)} [Al-Isra: 79], he said: "He will seat him upon His Throne." I heard Abu Dawud say: "Whoever denies this is, in our view, suspect." He also said: "People have continued to narrate this, intending to enrage the Jahmiyyah, because the Jahmiyyah deny that there is anything upon the Throne."
٢٤٤ - وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ السِّجِسْتَانِيُّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى الرَّازِيُّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، فِي قَوْلِهِ: {عَسَى أَنْ يَبْعَثَكَ رَبُّكَ مَقَامًا مَحْمُودًا} [الإسراء: ٧٩] قَالَ: «يُجْلِسُهُ عَلَى عَرْشِهِ» ، وَسَمِعْتُ أَبَا دَاوُدَ يَقُولُ: مَنْ أَنْكَرَ هَذَا فَهُوَ عِنْدَنَا مُتَّهَمٌ، وَقَالَ: مَا زَالَ النَّاسُ يُحَدِّثُونَ بِهَذَا، يُرِيدُونَ مُغَايَظَةَ الْجَهْمِيَّةِ، وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ الْجَهْمِيَّةَ ⦗٢١٥⦘ يُنْكِرُونَ أَنَّ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ شَيْئًا
