251 - Muhammad ibn Abdus and al-Hasan ibn Salih, one of whom was more complete than the other, informed me, saying: Abu Bakr al-Marrudhi narrated to us, saying: Abu Bakr ibn Hammad al-Muqri' said: Whoever these hadiths are mentioned in front of and he remains silent, he is under suspicion regarding Islam; so how about one who criticizes them? Abu Ja'far al-Daqiqi said: Whoever rejects them is, according to us, a Jahmi, and the ruling regarding one who rejects this is that one should be wary of him. Abbas al-Duri said: None rejects this except someone who is under suspicion. Ishaq ibn Rahawayh said: Faith in this hadith and submission to it [is required]. Ishaq said to Abu Ali al-Quhustani: Whoever rejects this hadith is a Jahmi. Abd al-Wahhab al-Warraq said to someone who rejected the virtue of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that He will seat him on the Throne: He is under suspicion regarding Islam. Ibrahim al-Asbahani said: The scholars have been narrating this hadith for one hundred and sixty years, and none rejects it except the people of innovation. He said: I asked Hamdan ibn Ali about this hadith, and he said: I wrote it down fifty years ago, and I have not seen anyone reject it except the people of innovation. Ibrahim al-Harbi said: Harun ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us, and none denies this except the people of innovation. Harun ibn Ma'ruf said: This is a hadith by which Allah cools the eyes of the zindiqs (heretics). He said: I heard Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Sulami saying: Whoever imagines that Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not merit from Allah the Almighty what Mujahid said, he is a disbeliever in Allah the Magnificent. He said: And I heard Abu Abd Allah al-Khaffaf saying: I heard Muhammad ibn Mus'ab—meaning the ascetic—saying: Yes, He will seat him on the Throne so that the creation may see his station.
