And this hadith was narrated to me by Mihraz ibn 'Awn, who said: Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Layth, from Mujahid, regarding His saying, 'It may be that your Lord will raise you to a Praiseworthy Station' [Al-Isra': 79], he said: 'He will seat him upon the Throne.' I have heard this hadith from more than one of our sheikhs, and I have never seen anyone who rejected this.
وَحَدَّثَنِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ مُحْرِزُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ، قَالَ: ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ {عَسَى أَنْ يَبْعَثَكَ رَبُّكَ مَقَامًا مَحْمُودًا} [الإسراء: ٧٩] قَالَ: «يُجْلِسُهُ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ» ، وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَاحِدٍ مِنْ مَشْيَخَتِنَا، مَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا رَدَّ هَذَا
