279 - Abu Ma'mar narrated to us, Abu al-Hudhayl narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Fudayl, from Layth, from Mujahid, regarding {It may be that your Lord will raise you to a Praiseworthy Station} [Al-Isra': 79], he said: "He will seat him with Him upon the Throne." Abdullah said: I heard this hadith from a group, and I have not seen any of the hadith scholars deny it. It was our established view at the time we heard it from the sheikhs that this hadith is only denied by the Jahmiyyah, and I refute everyone who rejects this hadith, for he is one who harbors malice against the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
٢٧٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ، ثَنَا أَبُو الْهُذَيْلِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، قَالَ: {عَسَى أَنْ يَبْعَثَكَ رَبُّكَ مَقَامًا مَحْمُودًا} [الإسراء: ٧٩] قَالَ: «يُجْلِسُهُ مَعَهُ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ» ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ: سَمِعْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ مِنْ جَمَاعَةٍ، وَمَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا مِنَ الْمُحَدِّثِينَ يُنْكِرُهُ، وَكَانَ عِنْدَنَا فِي وَقْتٍ مَا سَمِعْنَاهُ مِنَ الْمَشَايِخِ أَنَّ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ إِنَّمَا تُنْكِرُهُ الْجَهْمِيَّةُ، وَأَنَا مُنْكَرٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مَنْ رَدَّ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ، وَهُوَ مُتَّهِمٌ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
