289 - And Abu Bakr narrated to us, saying: I asked Abu 'Abd Allah about Muhammad ibn Mus'ab al-'Abid, and he praised him, saying: "And what a man he was!" I said: "Was he an adherent of the Sunnah?" He said: "Yes, by my life, I have written from him," and he began to elevate his status. 'Abbas al-Duri told me, saying: Yahya ibn Ma'in said to us: And he mentioned Ibn Mus'ab, and he mentioned him with goodness, and said: "Write from him."
٢٨٩ - وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قالِ: سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُصْعَبٍ الْعَابِدِ، فَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ، قَالَ: وَأَيُّ رَجُلٍ. قُلْتَ: كَانَ صَاحِبَ سُنَّةٍ؟ قَالَ: إِي لَعَمْرِي، لَقَدْ كَتَبْتُ عَنْهُ، وَجَعَلَ يَرْفَعُ مِنْ قَدْرِهِ، وَقَالَ لِي عَبَّاسٌ الدُّورِيُّ، قَالَ لَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ: وَذَكَرَ ابْنَ مُصْعَبٍ فَذَكَرَهُ بِخَيْرٍ وَقَالَ: اكْتُبُوا عَنْهُ "
