303 - Abu Bakr said: I asked Abu Qilabah about this hadith of Ibn Fudayl, and he said: 'Amr ibn 'Ali ibn Bahr ibn Kaniz narrated to us, saying: Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Layth, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "It may be that your Lord will raise you to a Praised Station" [Al-Isra: 79]. He said: "He will seat him upon the Throne." Abu Qilabah said: "None rejects this except the people of innovation (Ahl al-Bid'ah) and the Jahmiyyah."
٣٠٣ - قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: سَأَلْتُ أَبَا قِلَابَةَ عَنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ فُضَيْلٍ هَذَا، فَقَالَ ⦗٢٥٥⦘: حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ بَحْرِ بْنِ كَنِيزٍ، قَالَ: ثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، فِي قَوْلِهِ: {عَسَى أَنْ يَبْعَثَكَ رَبُّكَ مَقَامًا مَحْمُودًا} [الإسراء: ٧٩] قَالَ: «يُقْعِدُهُ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ» ، قَالَ أَبُو قِلَابَةَ: لَا يَرُدُّ هَذَا إِلَّا أَهْلُ الْبِدَعِ وَالْجَهْمِيَّةُ
