330 - Muhammad informed us, saying: Waki' narrated to us, from Abu al-'Umays, from Ibn Abi Mulaykah, from 'A'ishah, who said: "The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was taken [in death] without having appointed a successor; and had he been someone to appoint a successor, he would have appointed Abu Bakr or 'Umar."
