45 - Muhammad informed us, saying: Waki' reported, from Sufyan, from Ibn al-Munkadir, from Umaymah bint Ruqayqah, that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "I do not shake hands with women; my speech to one woman among you is like my speech to one hundred women." He then said: "Pledge allegiance to me regarding that which you are able and capable of." We said: "Allah and His Messenger are more merciful to us than we are to ourselves."
٤٥ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، قَالَ: أَنْبَأَ وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ أُمَيْمَةَ ابْنَةِ رُقَيْقَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنِّي لَسْتُ أُصَافِحُ النِّسَاءَ، إِنَّمَا قَوْلِي لِامْرَأَةٍ مِنْكُنَّ كَقَوْلِي لِمِائَةِ امْرَأَةٍ» ، وَقَالَ: «تُبَايِعْنَ فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتُنَّ وَأَطَقْتُنَّ» ، قُلْنَا: «اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَرْحَمُ بِنَا مِنْ أَنْفُسِنَا»
