Ismah ibn Issam informed me, saying: Hanbal narrated to us, saying: I asked Abu Abd Allah [Ahmad ibn Hanbal] about the Friday prayer and its performance at the earliest time. He said: "The progeny of al-Abbas are more upright regarding the prayer, and they are more meticulous in attending to the prayer than others." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Obey them as long as they establish the prayer among you."
