Muhammad informed us, saying: Waki' reported to us, from Sufyan, from Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, that al-'Abbas said: "O Messenger of Allah, will you not appoint me?" He replied: "O 'Abbas, O uncle of the Messenger of Allah, a soul that you save is better than an authority (imara) you cannot account for."
